Meet Deb

Welcome to Deb’s Heritage Hens, specialising in rare and heritage breeds of all things poultry.

Located at Combaning in the Riverina area of NSW, my experience, knowledge and love of poultry is vast. I have owned and bred fowl for over 20 years, from running a small free-range egg farm of several thousand birds to keeping a small commercial flock of meat birds.

My true love of poultry came about after moving from farming to pure breeds. My heart is in preserving, improving and promoting these amazing rare and heritage breeds.

I strive to breed to the Australian Poultry Standards, producing birds of health, soundness and quality. I don’t claim my birds are perfect, but the intent is always there. I have sourced breeding stock from some of the most reputable breeders and mentors in Australia and continue to work towards improving my birds with each generation.
