Deb’s Heritage Hens takes great care to ensure fertile eggs are in excellent condition when they leave my care.
Fertility of my breeding pens is checked regularly, including daily monitoring during periods when fertile eggs are being collected for sale. Eggs supplied for postage are individually marked by me prior to dispatch. These markings identify eggs supplied by Deb’s Heritage Hens and must remain visible if a concern is raised after delivery.
Once an order has been lodged with Australia Post, the handling and transportation of the parcel is outside my control. I cannot accept responsibility for damage, delays, loss, temperature exposure, rough handling or other events occurring while a parcel is in the care of Australia Post.
Hatching eggs are living biological material and a fertile egg does not guarantee a successful hatch. Hatch rates can be affected by many factors after the eggs leave my care, including transport, storage, handling, incubation temperature and humidity, turning, incubator accuracy or malfunction, power interruptions, and the behaviour or reliability of broody hens.
Responsibility for the handling and care of eggs after delivery rests with the purchaser. This includes eggs handled by children, family members or any other person after the parcel has been received.
Deb’s Heritage Hens cannot accept responsibility for hatch failure resulting from the purchaser’s incubator, incubation practices, broody hen, storage or handling of the eggs after delivery.
If you believe there is a problem with eggs supplied by Deb’s Heritage Hens, please contact me through the Contact page. Any claim or concern must be accompanied by clear photographic or video evidence showing the eggs concerned, including my identifying markings where applicable.
